A NEW country and western bar celebrated its opening with a launch event turned out by dozens.

Honky Tonk Collective opened its doors on August 3 with drinks, food, cars and a line dancing workshop.

Ayshe and Ben Sinclair built the western bar from scratch while continuing with their day jobs as a fireman and admin worker.

George Brimble attended the event with Ryan Kristian and Demi and Tom Crabbe.

He said: “We travel to western events and recently went to Rock and Ribs Festival.”

Tom added: “I have never seen anything like this locally.”

Dave Madmert, Alan Grey and Matt Volksafaf said they knew the old owners so turned out to see the new business.

“It is nice to see old faces again,” said Dave.

Alan added: “It is a really good turnout for the first day.”

Craig and Diane Davies said the venue was “really busy” but they were loving it.

“We came down to support the owners,” said Diane.

“It is absolutely amazing, I really like the layout and it is really good to see everyone dressed up.”

Local businesses also set up stands for the launch event including Salisbury based Binks & Bo who travelled just for the occasion.

“We heard about it through a friend of a friend and came down just for the launch,” said owner, Felicity O’Sullivan.

“We have been to lots of western festivals but not too many bars so nice to see something different.”

Megan and Mia West, from Tech Autos in Wiltshire, brought one of their cars along for the show and said they were loving the event.

Honky Tonk Collective was born out of Ben and Ayshe’s love for country music and recognising the need for a themed venue in the south of England.

Inside the venue will sell coffee, cakes and sandwiches along with a well-stocked bar.

Outside, the venue’s kitchen, Noshville, will be serving loaded fries, pancakes stacks and shakes.

Honky Tonk Collective is based in Allens Lane, Hamworthy.
