RESIDENTS from a care home in Ferndown have taken part in a quiz, competing against other care homes in the UK.
Staff and residents from Barchester’s Kings Park Care Home participated in the Barchester Big Quiz on July 30 against other Barchester care homes.
The event marked Barchester's 100th live event, featuring a centennial theme with questions covering various topics.
Jenna May, senior general manager, said: "We’ve got some excellent quizzers at our home, we are very competitive.
"The residents love nothing more than joining forces for these events and collectively, they have done really well.
"Their knowledge is so wide and varied, that together they really exceed.
"It’s great to see residents from all floors come together and compete as a community too."
Claudia Canosa, activities lead, said: "It has been a lovely afternoon and seeing everyone chip in with their suggestions for answers has been wonderful.
"The virtual live events have been a real hit with our residents since they were first launched and are wide and varied in what they offer, but the quizzes have always been enjoyed and create a united front.
"We scored 32 out of 34, which we were really pleased with.
"As they say, it’s not the winning that matters, but the taking part and that’s what we’re sticking with."
