TWO bus services were forced to divert after vandals targeted and threw objects at the bus.
Morebus announced it would not be serving Turlin Moor on Monday, August 5, evening after reports of youths attempting to damage the vehicle.
The latest incident comes just three days after Morebus general manager, Richard Wade, said the service is doing “all it can” to catch the perpetrators.
In an updated comment, Mr Wade said: "Youths in Turlin Moor chose to target our 8 and 9 services once again yesterday evening, throwing objects at them.
"There was no initial damage to any of our vehicles but with the safety of our drivers and passengers in mind, we decided to withdraw services for the rest of the evening.
“This is not a decision we ever take lightly, as we are fully aware that buses provide a vital lifeline to many in the area.
"We are currently liaising with the police and BCP’s Transport Safety Officers to identify those involved, and the investigation is ongoing.
“This anti-social behaviour is completely unacceptable and is having a detrimental effect on many innocent people living within the local community.
“With this in mind, we will seek to prosecute anyone who is identified as being involved in these mindless acts of vandalism.”
Attacks in Turlin Moor have been a continued issue for the bus service since 2022 with multiple incidents this year already.
