THREE people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash in Ferndown with a man aged in his 20s arrested.
A man aged in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences after a two-vehicle crash on Wimborne East Road, Ferndown at around 9:20pm on August 5.
Three people, which included an 18-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, and a 50-year-old man, were taken to hospital following the incident to be treated for serious injuries which were believed not to be life-threatening.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at around 9.20pm on Monday 5 August 2024 of a two-vehicle collision on Wimborne Road East in Ferndown.
"Emergency services attended and three people – an 18-year-old man, a man aged in his 20s and a man aged in his 50s – were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening.
"The man aged in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences."
Road closures were put in place to allow emergency services to respond to the crash and to examine the scene.
Police re-opened the surrounding roads at 3:40am on August 6.
Ferndown Fire Station reported that it was also on-scene and that had to 'extract multiple casualties' from vehicles.
A spokesperson for Ferndown Fire Station said: "In the early evening last night, Ferndown's crew was first in attendance to a two car RTC.
"The head-on collision happened at considerable speed and resulted in the need to extract multiple casualties from the vehicles.
"It was a multi-agency incident with Redhill's 22P1, several ambulance crews, and multiple police units all on scene."
