A POLICE helicopter was seen circling an area of Bournemouth after a reported disturbance.

Police officers were seen searching areas of Winton after reports of a disturbance in Beswick Gardens.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 9.09pm on Wednesday, August 7, Dorset Police received a report of a disturbance involving individuals who were known to one another at an address in Beswick Gardens in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that a man left the scene following the altercation and there were no reports of any injuries.

“Officers attended the incident and conducted a search of the surrounding area - assisted by NPAS helicopter - to locate the man before he was eventually located by a third-party.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident. No arrests have been made.

“We would like to reassure members of the local community that there was no information to indicate any threat to the wider public.”

A spokesperson for NPAS said: "At 10.16pm on August 7, a police helicopter crew from NPAS Bournemouth was deployed to the Redhill Park area of Bournemouth to assist Dorset Police in the search for a man, for whom there was a concern for safety.

"Total flying time was 40 minutes."
