A LEGO enthusiast is holding a Brick Robot Wars event for children at Kinson Community Centre.
Sam Ramsay, 49, event organiser and computing expert, came up with the idea when helping at his daughter’s school, which enters an international Lego competition every year.
He said: "I bought a couple of these Lego robots for myself, because I've always been a Lego fan and then started running after school clubs and it's gone from there."
The educational workshop, which is designed for children aged eight and above, involves the building and programming of Lego robots, arena contests and battle royales.
There is even the option to add Lego weapons for added fighting power.
"You can have 15 robots in the arena. And it's a little bit of mayhem at the very end", he said.
Sam also works with autistic children and referred to the Lego clubs as a type of ‘therapy’ and a great way to promote teamwork.
When referring to the build sessions he said: "One of you has the instructions, one of you is building it, and one of you is finding the pieces. So suddenly it's a lot of communication, between the individuals building it, which is amazing for the kids."
Tickets for the event on Friday, August ,16, are on sale for £30 each, visit the brickrobotclub.co.uk website for more details.
