A POPULAR party service has announced it will no longer be a part of the Bournemouth air show after this year.

The Hush Club provided entertainment to hundreds of visitors during the Bournemouth Air Festival at Café Riva in Southbourne.

Now, the entertainment service says it has been forced to stop its performances after complaints from nearby residents.

In a post on social media from the club, it read: “It is with a heavy heart that we are forced to announce this year’s air show event at Cafe Riva will be our last at the site.

“It has always been our spiritual home, and the magic created there by the local community will live on we hope, but due to a few local residents’ complaints, the environmental health have deemed The Hush Club and our 2 events per year as an ‘unsuitable act for the venue’.

“We have loved you sharing your stories from our events.

“From newborn babies to 94-year-old disco queens, you have been the most inclusive crowd we’ve ever known, and have been more than generous in raising thousands of pounds for local charities.”

Labour MP Tom Hayes also released a statement on the closure, he said: “I understand The Hush Club will stop putting on events after this year’s air show event.

“This is sad news. Local events bring people together through music and shared experiences.”
