POLICE are investigating a huge car fire in Bournemouth that is believed to have been started deliberately.
Firefighters were called to Ensbury Park shortly before 11pm on August 10 after reports of a car engulfed in flames.
The fire service sent two crews to the scene after concerns of the proximity of the car to a nearby house.
Police are now investigating the cause of the blaze, which is believed to have been started deliberately.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 10.58pm on Saturday 10 August 2024 from the fire service relating to a vehicle fire in Kingsbere Avenue in Bournemouth.
“Officers attended and, following enquiries at the scene and liaison with the fire service, it is believed the fire was started deliberately.
“The vehicle was recovered and the local authority was notified due to damage to the road surface.
“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made.”
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said: “We attended a car fire in Bournemouth at 22.50pm last night (August 10).
“We sent two appliances because it was parked quite close to a house.
“When we got there it was a private vehicle, well alight, and we used extinguishers to deal with the fire and then handed the incident over to the police.”
