A MAN has been arrested after assaulting three people, with one taken to hospital.

Police were called to Pound Lane in Christchurch at around 12.30pm on August 11 after reports of a disturbance.

It was reported that a man assaulted three people before officers arrived at the scene.

The ambulance service attended and took one person to hospital as a precaution for injuries that were not believed to be serious.

A man aged in his 50s and from Poole was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating.

He has since been released under investigation.

A spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at 12.27pm on Sunday 11 August 2024 of a disturbance in the area of Pound Lane in Christchurch involving a man who had reportedly assaulted three people.

“Officers attended the scene, along with the ambulance service and one person was taken to hospital as a precaution for injuries that were not believed to be serious. No further injuries were reported.

“A man aged in his 50s from Poole was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating.

“He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.”
