A MAN has been hit by a lorry in Bournemouth town centre. 

The pedestrian was walking in Richmond Gardens, at the top of Richmond Hill on Monday morning, August 12 when he was involved in the collision. 

Emergency services rushed to the road and put in a road block while the man was treated – but his injuries are not yet known.  

He was seen being put onto a stretcher with a bandage around his head by paramedics in a doctor’s car tended, who were first on scene, tended to him. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the tipper lorry waited with police officers. 

Dorset Police’s spokeswoman said: “We were called at 10.32am on Monday 12 August 2024 to a report of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian on Richmond Hill in Bournemouth.  

“Officers are in attendance with the ambulance service. No update on injuries at this time.”

She added no arrests have been made and the condition of the man is not known.
