A GROUP of people refused to leave a McDonald’s prompting staff to phone the police.

Workers at the Old Christchurch Road restaurant in Bournemouth town centre claimed a group of customers were being “aggressive” towards them on Sunday evening, August 11.

When asked to leave, the group refused to leave and police officers had to be called.

However, before the officers arrived, the group had left.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth resident Luke, 23, said he had to wait outside the shop for a burger.

He said: “I had to wait outside but had no idea why. I heard something about aggression and a security guard on the door said it is closed.

“The manager then came out and said it will be open in about 10 minutes, but we were not told why.”

Dorset Police’s spokesman said enquiries into the incident are ongoing and that no arrests had been made.

He said: “We received a report at 8.47pm on Sunday 11 August 2024 of a disturbance at McDonald’s in Old Christchurch Road in Bournemouth involving a group of people who were being aggressive toward staff and were refusing to leave.

“Officers attended around five minutes later and it was confirmed that the group had left the scene.”
