AN ELDERLY man suffered “serious” injuries after a crash with a lorry.
The Bournemouth man aged in his 70s was walking at the top of Richmond Hill when he was involved in a collision with a Mercedes tipper lorry at around 10.30am on Monday, August 12.
He was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries to his head, it is understood.
He was seen being put onto a stretcher with a bandage around his head by paramedics in a doctor’s car, who were first on scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the tipper lorry, who was uninjured, waited with police officers. No arrests have been made.
Officers investigating the crash are now looking for two pedestrians who helped the injured man in the crash.
Police constable Duncan Roberts, of the roads policing team, said: “An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
“I understand there were two pedestrians who came to the aid of the injured man after the incident and I would urge them to please come forward so I can find out what they saw.
“I am also keen to hear from any other witnesses who have not already spoken to police or anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.”
