EMERGENCY services were called to assist a person who had fallen at the seafront.

Coastguards and the ambulance service attended Southbourne beach on Monday evening to reports a person had fallen near Sobo Beach bar.

Bystanders reported seeing two coastguard vehicles and one ambulance.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT), said: “We were called at 17:43 on Monday, August 12, to reports of a person who had fallen on Southbourne beach.

“We sent a double-crewed ambulance to the scene.”

It is understood the person who fell was not taken to hospital.
