THREE people have been rushed to hospital for serious injuries following a police chase in Ferndown.

At around 9.30pm on Monday, August 5, 2024, Dorset Police received a report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Wimborne Road East near Ferndown.

It is reported that a black Audi A1 failed to stop for officers in the area of the Canford Bottom roundabout before it made off towards Stapehill and collided with a blue Vauxhall Zafira near The Pure Drop pub.

Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and for an examination of the collision scene to be conducted.

A 20-year-old man from Wimborne Minster and an 18-year-old man from Ferndown were both taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the Vauxhall Zafira was also taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police Constable Tracey Downer of the Serious Collision Investigation Team said: “This road traffic collision resulted in serious injuries to those involved, and we are continuing to conduct enquiries to establish the full circumstances of how it occurred.

“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.

“I am also keen to hear from any motorists who were driving in the vicinity and may have captured relevant dashcam footage.”
