RESIDENTS are being asked for their views on reduced speed limits in their area.
Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council has asked for its residents’ views on dropping the 30mph speed limit down in Sandy Lane and associated roads.
The residential roads included in the proposals are Yarrell’s Lane, Moorland Way, Sea View Road, Watery Lane and Policeman’s Lane.
Although Dorset Council is the one to implement a 20mph area, the town council has been asked for its residents' views.
A spokesman for the town council said: “The town council is keen to hear the views of our residents in relation to the proposal to reduce the speed limit along Sandy Lane and associated roads to 20mph.
“The reduction in speed will ultimately be the decision of Dorset Council; however, they have asked us to consult with the residents and provide feedback.
“Dorset Council advise that it is not possible just to implement the speed limit reduction in just Sandy Lane, it also has to be rolled out in associated roads.”
Meanwhile, a new pedestrian crossing also also being proposed in Dorchester Road, Lytchett Minster, just near St Peter's Finger pub.
A questionnaire can be filled out on the town council’s website, or a hard copy is a available at its office in Moorland Way.
Feedback from the consultation can be given until the deadline of Monday, September 30.
