A POOLE convenience store has been evacuated after reports of a burning smell and light smoke.
Tesco Express on Bournemouth Road is currently closed, and firefighters are at the scene.
As a result of the incident, everyone has been evacuated while an investigation takes place into the report.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service said: “We were called to a convenience store on Bournemouth Road, Poole at 12.26pm today (16 August) after a smell of burning and light smoke logging was reported.
“We have three crews in attendance, from Westbourne, Poole, and Springbourne, with firefighters carrying out a full inspection of the premises to find the cause.
“The shop was evacuated as a precaution while these investigations take place.”
"Our stop was at 1.44pm, no sign of fire was found so the incident was left with store engineers to do detailed checks of fridges, freezers."
A Tesco spokesperson said: "Our Bournemouth Road Express store is open as normal following a brief closure earlier today to fix a maintenance issue.
"We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
