A MAN was bottled during a fight in Bournemouth

The victim, in his 30s, suffered an injury to his arm following the fracas in Holdenhurst Road, opposite Asda and the petrol station. He was taken to hospital. 

Witnesses reported around 10 police cars rushing to the road in the Lansdowne area shortly after 5pm on Sunday, August 18. 

Officers placed a large cordon around the area while detectives enquired, with officers spotted searching around the church grounds. 

Meanwhile, a man aged in his 30s and from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. 

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 5.09pm on Sunday 18 August 2024 that a man had sustained injuries following an altercation with another man in Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth. 

“It was reported that a man aged in his 30s had been the victim of an assault involving a glass bottle and had sustained injuries to his arm. He was taken to hospital for treatment. 

“Following enquiries at the scene, a local man aged in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. 

“The victim and the arrested man are reported to be known to each other. 

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
