A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after a collision with a car.

Officers were called to Tregonwell Road in Bournemouth at 3.44pm on Monday, August 19 after reports of a crash.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and arranged recovery.

It is understood the motorcyclist was left with potentially serious, but not life threatening, injuries.

Dorset Police left the scene and the road was cleared at around 5.45pm.

Dorset traffic cops posted on social media at the time of the incident: “Tregonwell Road, Bournemouth is currently closed following a collision between a car and motorcycle.

“The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with potentially serious, but not life threatening injuries.”

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received the report at 3.44pm on Monday 19 August 2024.

“Vehicles were recovered and road cleared at around 5.45pm.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 15:36hrs on Monday 19 August to a road traffic collision near Bournemouth.

"We sent one double-crewed land ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital”.
