FLIGHT times for the Typhoons at this year’s air festival have been confirmed.

With the Red Arrows not turning up this year due to overseas commitments in Canada, the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet is now the most anticipated display this year.

Capable of reaching speeds of up to Mach 2 (or 1,500mph in groundspeed), the Typhoon can also climb as high as 55,000 ft (the equivalent of nearly two Mount Everests).

At this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival, the jet is set to take to the skies six times in a mix of day and dusk displays on all three days.

This includes: Thursday, August 29 at 4.30pm and 7.42pm, Friday, August 30 at 4.10pm and 7.40pm and Saturday, August 31 at 5.24pm and 7.35pm.

Famed for being one of the leanest and meanest planes in the arsenal, the Typhoon has also been a regular at the Bournemouth Air Festival.

Pilot Flight Lieutenant Adam ‘Paddy’ O’Hare told the Echo during 2022’s Bournemouth Air Festival that, despite the loud noise from the jet engines, it’s actually a lot quieter in the cockpit.

He added it is "fast, exhilarating, intense and very sweaty” to fly.

The Typhoon can also carry up to six missiles and six bombs and has been used by the British in the Falklands, Libya and more.
