A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a late-night stabbing has left a teenager in hospital with serious injuries.

Police were called to Vale Road in Poole shortly after midnight on Friday, August 23 after reports of a disturbance at an address.

A man in his late teens sustained a stab wound and was taken to hospital for treatment.

He is understood to be in a serious condition.

A 15-year-old boy from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder along with a 16-year-old girl who has been arrested on suspicion of affray.

Both teenagers remain in police custody.

Vale Road remained cordoned off by police hours after the incident as forensics examined the scene.

A spokesperson said: “Dorset Police received a report at around 12.05am on Friday 23 August 2024 of a disturbance at an address in Vale Road in Poole.

“During the incident, a man aged in his late teens sustained a stab wound. He has been taken to hospital for treatment and his condition is described as serious.

“Following initial enquiries, a 15-year-old boy from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 16-year-old Bournemouth girl has been arrested on suspicion of affray. They both remain in police custody.

“Vale Road has been closed to allow for a detailed examination of the scene to be carried out.

“There will be an increased policing presence in the area and we would encourage anyone with information or concerns to please speak with an officer.”

A spokesperson said: "Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance were tasked to an incident in the  Poole area last night.

"A teenage male patient was escorted by the air ambulance critical care team in a land ambulance to Southampton Hospital.

"The team we provided consisted of a doctor and specialist practitioner in critical care, both of whom specialise in pre-hospital emergency medicine."
