Since then, he underwent chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and surgery to battle his condition.

During his life, he met the King and Queen, Bear Grylls, and visited magical places such as Disneyland and Dubai.

The service started on a sunny morning with a performance from a marching band dressed head to toe in Spiderman costumes as the hearse was brought toward the crematorium.

Ellis’ coffin, covered in Marvel decoration, was brought into the ceremony by his closest family and friends.

Over 200 people captured not just the love everyone had for Ellis but how he loved everyone back, his bravery, his kindness and his determination to live life to the full.

In a tribute to their son, his mum, Carly, and dad, Eddie said: “His never-ending smile and thirst for life enabled him to have so much fun and laughter with his little brother, William, and friends during this time.

“He fought the cancer taking over him like a champion. He refused to give in to the beast until the bitter end, even travelling to Disneyland Paris at the end of June and attending his school residential in July, joining in with kayaking, nerf wars, and all the things children should be doing.

“He was so determined to do everything he wanted to before he let it take him.

“During his last weeks of life, he managed to attend his school award ceremony where he was awarded a certificate for the most inspirational child, he went to school to get his shirt signed and attend the end-of-year party as well.

“Ellis, you were adored by so many. You showed everyone what determination can achieve.”

A GoFundMe was also set up by a friend of the family to help Ellis’ family with funeral costs and general support.

Over £7,000 was raised through the fundraiser, nearing closer to the £10,000 target.

Ellis Edwards died on Monday, August 5, 2024, and a funeral occurred at New Forest Crematorium on August 23.
