THE following cases were heard at Poole Magistrates' Court:
MARCUS DIXON, 44 and of Mornington Place in London, admitted driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit, namely 6.6 micrograms of Delta-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) per litre of blood, in Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth on January 27. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months. He was also fined £230, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £92 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
KIERAN CARPENTER, 32 and of Kingcup Close in Poole, admitted possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place, namely a 7.62cm folding pocket knife, in Lower Blandford Road in Poole on February 18. He admitted failing to provide specimen for analysis, namely failing to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence, in Broadstone on February 18. He was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit, namely 47 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, in Pine Avenue in Bournemouth on September 12, 2023. He was jailed for 16 weeks and disqualified from driving for 36 months. He was also fined £230, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £92, and costs of £185 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
GEMMA LAFFERTY, 43 and of Seafield Road in Bournemouth, admitted fraud by false representation after using a bank card belonging to another person to make a payment of £559 without permission, in Bournemouth on March 17, 2023. Court records report the incident was a ‘breach of trust involving a very vulnerable victim’. She was handed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. She was also ordered to pay compensation of £559, a victim surcharge of £154 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
