POLICE are no longer investigating a stabbing at a curry house, with nobody being arrested for it.

Multiple police officers and detectives rushed to outside Westbourne Tandoori in Seamoor Road, Bournemouth on December 30.

A man in his 30s was reportedly stabbed and had to be taken to hospital for treatment officers described as “not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing".

Since then, Dorset Police has been saying enquiries have been carried out and then, on Monday, August 27, a spokesman said the case has been closed.

He said: “Our enquiries have concluded but, as with any case, we will consider any new lines of enquiry should they emerge.”

Nobody has been arrested or brought to court

At the time, one police cordon was placed outside the curry restaurant and a second cordon was put in place behind the restaurant in R L Stevenson Avenue.

The spokesman added "extensive" investigation work went into the stabbing, but in the end not enough evidence was found and the victim didn't help officers.

He said: "Detectives conducted an extensive investigation into this incident – including taking statements from the victim and witnesses of what happened, forensic examination of the scene and sourcing and reviewing CCTV footage.

"Analysis of CCTV in the area found no evidence that anyone had entered the restaurant at the relevant time. Officers also spoke with members of the public, but no corroborating evidence or independent witnesses were identified.

"Unfortunately, the victim did not fully support the officers in their enquiries. Dorset Police takes reports of incidents involving reports of knives very seriously.

"However on this occasion, detectives were unable to establish how the person sustained their injuries or whether there was any third-party involvement.

"Dorset Police will continue to pursue all active lines of enquiry when investigating reports of incidents involving knives with a view to compiling enough evidence to present to the CPS so any suspects can be charged and brought before the courts to face justice.

"We would urge members of the public to report any incidents of knife crime to us, including where they may believe someone they know may be carrying a knife.
