THOUSANDS OF people are set to swim butt-naked for the Great South Skinny Dip.
The Great British Skinny Dip started in 2016 and has extended from one event to dozens being organised around the country.
Now, a date has been announced for the highly anticipated event to come to Dorset.
Knoll Beach will become filled with naked people to raise money for MIND, a Dorset charity that supports people with mental health issues.
The Great South Skinny Dip takes place at 1pm (meet from 12 noon) on the beach at Studland Bay.
A spokesperson for the event said: “From mental health and body positivity to raising your heart rate and just feeling the rush of being alive, there are many, many health benefits to being naked. But, if you are looking for another reason to skinny dip, why not do it for a great cause?
“You can be as bare as you dare. If you would feel more comfortable wearing a swimsuit then you are welcome to. There will be time to strip off and store your clothes before the off and plenty of space to spread out or stay with your friends or family group when on the beach.
“We will be meeting at 12 noon on the beach. You will see our Slow Swimming turquoise flags and table 1km along the beach to the north of the car park.
“Please make sure you have entered online first. Once signed in you will receive a wristband that you must wear during the event.
“At 1pm we will sound the horn and rush as one into the sea. Squeals and screams are bound to follow.
“This year we are proud to be raising much-needed funds for MIND.
“Ask your friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor you to take part in the Great South Skinny Dip then make a donation to MIND.
Stark naked swimmers will take to the sea on September 14.
