A WOMAN has died and another has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving offences following a fatal crash in Lymington.

Hampshire Police were called at 1.54pm to a report of a collision involving a blue Vauxhall Meriva and a pedestrian on Milford Road on Tuesday, August 27.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Emergency services attended and a 77-year-old woman from Lymington was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her family has been informed and is being supported by officers.

A 60-year-old woman from Lymington has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.

Milford Road remains closed while officers carry out enquiries.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have been passing through the area around 1.50pm this afternoon and saw what happened or the moments leading up to it.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage which could help us with our investigation.
