THE night sky lit up with dazzling colours during day one of Night Air at this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival

A Eurofighter Typhoon returned to the skies on Thursday evening, August 29 as the sun set beneath the horizon.

After the noise and fury of the fighter jet, the two Firebirds also returned with their beautiful and colourful display.

Clad with LED lights on the exterior, the two planes light up the darkening sky.

Shortly afterwards, Otto the Helicopter made a welcome return with its hundreds of fireworks coming from the craft.

Otto is a Schweizer 300c helicopter and it takes hours of preparation to see 1,500 pyrotechnic shots blasted from six seperate firing lines.

And the show concluded with the Red Devils parachute team leaping back down to earth.
