A POPULAR Bournemouth butchers has closed its doors to the public.
Armstrong Butchers, in Wimborne Road, Winton, closed ‘around two weeks ago’, according to residents in the area.
On a visit by the Echo, all meat and stock had been removed from the shelves and fridges, the lights were switched off and post is piling up in front of the door.
One passerby said: "It's been closed for about two weeks now, it's such a shame and is another butcher gone.
"We all need to use on them - use them or lose them."
The butchers, which is rated a three and ‘generally satisfactory’ by the Food Standards Agency, has served Winton and Talbot Woods residents for around 14 years, having opened around 2010.
Before it opened, the unit was a professional ironing service called Express ironing.
It was run by butcher Paul Armstrong, who in 2019 started legal action in a bid to recoup £4,000 from a former pub landlord who he alleged had failed to repay for his supplies.
Armstrong Butchers has been approached for more details.
