TWO men have been charged with possessing an imitation firearm and robbery.
Officers were called to Tesco Express in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, shortly after 10am on Sunday, August 25 after reports of a theft.
It is alleged the men stole alcohol and were seen with a firearm.
Harry Belton, 20 and of Bournemouth, and George Warren, 21 and of no fixed abode, were charged with theft from a shop, possessing an imitation firearm and robbery.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 10.09pm on Sunday 25 August 2024, Dorset Police received a report of shoplifting at Tesco Express in Christchurch Road in Bournemouth in which two men reportedly stole alcohol from the store.
“It is reported that one of the men was in possession of a firearm.
“Following swift enquiries by officers, two men were arrested and a BB gun was recovered.
“No other persons were sought in connection with the incident and both men were subsequently charged.
“They were due to attend Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 27 August 2024.”
