A PLANE had to make an emergency landing at Bournemouth Airport due to engine failure.
It is understood the aircraft involved was a Citation private jet with a twin engine with only the pilot onboard.
The pilot was checked over by emergency services.
The incident occurred around 6.50pm on September 2.
A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a report to an aircraft that was having to make an emergency landing at Bournemouth Airport due to one of its engines being out.
“Our crews from Christchurch and Springbourne went to the airport to standby in case the Airport Fire Service required further assistance.
“Luckily, the aircraft landed safely with no one being injured and our crews were only required to collect details.”
