AN air weapon was seized after an altercation that closed a road in Bournemouth.
Armed officers were seen searching the area of Springwater Road in West Howe.
The road was closed while officers dealt with the incident on Monday afternoon, September 2.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 5.56pm on Monday 2 September 2024 of an altercation involving a group of people and the occupants of an Audi vehicle in Springwater Road in the West Howe area of Bournemouth.
“No one sustained any injuries.
“It was reported that one of the groups was in possession of a weapon.
“Officers arrived on scene, including armed officers, and carried out enquiries in the area.
“The group were located and detained for a search. An air weapon and air pellets were seized.
“The incident involved people who are known to each other and there was no threat to the wider public.
“Road closures were put in place while officers were conducting enquiries in the area. They were lifted at around 7.20pm.
“Two people are due to attend for voluntary police interview in relation to the incident.
“An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened. The local neighbourhood policing team is aware and are providing a visible presence in the area for reassurance and to support the investigation.”
