LANDMARKS and buildings across Dorset will be lit up in pink to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Ferris Wheel at Bournemouth Pier will be illuminated throughout October, while The Priory at Christchurch will be shining bright on October 19, and Wimborne Minster on October 12 and 13.
Corfe Castle will also be lit up on October 25 and 26, and Sherborne Abbey on October 1.
The campaign has been pushed by Pink Champagne Breast Cancer Survivors Dragon Boat Team - a team of 45 breast cancer survivors based in Hengistbury Head.
A spokesperson for the team said: “Breast cancer awareness month, is a yearly global event aimed at highlighting the importance of routine screening to detect breast cancer early. It is now the second most commonly diagnosed cancer globally.
“Pink is the defining colour of breast cancer and the campaign. Throughout the world and UK buildings can be seen illuminated in pink during the month of October.
“The dragon boat team hope that people will visit to see the illuminations and help spread the message further by sharing and posting photographs.”
