Several pets in Dorset are looking for their forever homes, including at the Ashley Heath Animal Centre.

Located on the border with Hampshire, the centre offers care for its animals in rural surroundings.

A few animals from the centre are listed below but more can be found on the centre's website.

Maggie

Gender - Female

Age - Three years old

Breed - Turkish Kangal crossbreed

Colour - Cream

If you want to adopt Maggie you can view their full profile here.

Maggie is described as a "sweet and resilient" dog who is ready to find her forever home.

She has had a rough start in life, having been a victim of animal cruelty in her past, so is looking to find some loving owners.

Maggie is quite energetic so would suit being part of a family that's fairly active, as she enjoys her walks.

The RSPCA adds: "Maggie is learning not to jump up on new people in a friendly manner and is also mastering the basics like sitting and walking nicely on a lead.

"Her new owner would benefit from continuing this training to help her continue to grow into a well-mannered adult dog."

Eric

Gender - Male

Age - Six to 12 months old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Grey and White

If you want to adopt Eric you can view their full profile here.

Eric is described as a "handsome" boy who came from a multi-cat household and unfortunately missed out on key human socialisation as a kitten.

He enjoys some fuss on his terms and the RSPCA believes he will be quite comfortable around people soon enough.

Eric particularly likes treats and tasty food which will help his new family be able to gain his trust.

He will need a quiet home where he has plenty of places to go to feel secure, as well as a room of his own initially to help him settle.

The RSPCA recommends keeping him indoors for at least eight weeks.

Age - 10 years old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Ginger

If you want to adopt Mr W T Bix you can view their full profile here.

When Mr W T Bix first arrived at Ashley Heath he was a little nervous about loud sounds and fast movements but soon settled in over time.

He isn't particularly keen on being picked up and is better coming over to you on his own terms.

Mr W T Bix is looking for a home where he's the only cat. He could also live with children of secondary school age.

Additionally, he is not to be rehomed within five miles of the BH10 postcode.

Ebony

Gender - Female

Age - 16 years old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Black

If you want to adopt Ebony you can view their full profile here.

Ebony came into the care of the RSPCA due to welfare concerns and is now looking for her retirement home.

She doesn't like to be picked up but she will jump on your lap for cuddles on her own terms.

Ebony will need to be the only pet in a new home and could live with teenagers.

The RSPCA adds: "Being an older cat Ebony does have some suspected arthritis in her hindlegs, however, she is still active and happy to jump on your lap and is not in need of medication at this time."

Stevie

Gender - Female

Age - Three years old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Black and White

If you want to adopt Stevie you can view their full profile here.

Stevie came into Ashley Heath after being found abandoned, but this hasn't stopped her from being extremely affectionate.

She can be a little shy when she first meets you but it won't take her long to come over for lots of fuss.

Stevie has at times not been comfortable with seeing other cats around in the cattery so ideally would be the only pet in a new home.

Additionally, she could live with children of secondary school age.
