A MAN has been arrested after two people – including an elderly man – were assaulted outside two fast food restaurants.
Detectives have arrested a Bournemouth man, 35, on suspicion of assault following the incidents in the Boscombe area on the morning of August 1.
As reported, an elderly man was treated by the ambulance service but did not sustain serious injuries in the attack near the KFC in Sea Road.
Following the initial incident, the offender later attacked a second person near McDonald’s in Christchurch Road.
The arrested man has been released under investigation as enquiries by officers continue.
Detective inspector Darren Moores, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate these assaults and we have now made an arrest.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed what happened who has not yet spoken to us to please get in touch.”
