A CHARITY has opened its "cheapest store yet" in Winton.
Dorset based charity Prama, which supports elderly people with memory loss and their carers, has opened its first ever discount charity shop on Wimborne Road in Winton.
Based in the former Naomi's House site, the new Prama charity shop will be its eleventh shop in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole.
Aaron Head, head of retail at Prama, said: "This is the first time we have trialled a discount store.
"All our shops have the same goal to raise money for the charity, but we are making sure we can give clothes to people who need them and might not have as much money.
"We also have a focus on recycling pre-loved clothes and giving everything a bit of extra life."
The Mayor of Bournemouth councillor George Farquhar visited the grand opening on Tuesday, September 10 and cut the ribbon marking the opening of the charity shop.
Cllr Farquhar said: "There is nowhere in Bournemouth that will beat the prices at this shop.
"It's a fantastic, great value store.
"I am a great supporter of keeping charity shops local, so that donations go straight to the cause."
Prama's new charity shop operates using 321 pricing, which means that nothing is more than £3.
The store is mostly run by volunteers, and the shop sells preloved clothes, shoes, books, toys and accessories.
Hannah Winkup, the store manager, said: "We are the cheapest store on the high street.
"Winton is full of students, and people everywhere are struggling for money at the moment, so I think we will be very popular.
"Hopefully people can go wild, and we have seen lots of people going wild all morning!"
Hannah said the shop has been infiltrated by donations and believes the low prices will draw people into the store, in turn, raising funds for the charity.
All proceeds go towards Prama's work in supporting adults and carers across BCP and Dorset, including people living with memory loss and other long-term health conditions.
Prama is 'excited' to announce they will be opening another new charity shop in Bearwood this October- which will become the charities twelfth shop in BCP.
