A MAN attempted to rob a person at a cash machine in Bournemouth town centre.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was going to take money out of the NatWest cash machine in Old Christchurch Road at around 3am on Tuesday, September 10.

He was then approached by a man, who officers say demanded money from the victim and made threats of violence unless he complied.

The victim managed to run away and nothing was taken.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to identify.
