A HILL road through a Dorset village will be closed until next week.
Rye Hill will be closed between Chamberlaynes and Yearlings Drive in Bere Regis from Wednesday morning, September 18.
Workmen will be carrying out maintenance work and resurfacing of the tarmac, following the other half of Rye Hill and Southbrook’s resurfacing earlier this year.
Dorset Council will close the road between 9am and 4pm daily until the anticipated completion date of Tuesday, September 24.
A signed diversion route will be in place past Clouds Hill, Waddock Drove, through Affpuddle and onto the A35 and vice versa.
Dorset Council said: “All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along C6 Bere Regis between Yearlings Drove to Chamberlaynes (in both directions), a distance of approximately 878 metres.
“The notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.”
