A 26-YEAR-OLD man from Poole has been arrested in relation to a racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth.
A man in his 40s was reportedly assaulted and then racially abused by a group of three men on September 1 at 5:30am in Beale Place.
The victim was understood to have been riding a beryl scooter when he came across the group before one of them punched him in the face.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Following enquiries by detectives from Bournemouth CID, a 26-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of assault.
"He remains in police custody at this time as enquiries continue.
"It is reported that at around 5.30am on Sunday 1 September 2024 a man aged in his 40s was riding a Beryl scooter in Beale Place when he came across a group of three men.
"One of the men punched the victim to the face and he was also racially abused by the group."
The victim managed to escape the group before he went to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
