TWO people have been dropped from a murder investigation after a man died of significant head injuries.

A man in his 60s was found unconscious in Hinton Road, Bournemouth town centre at around midday on Thursday, July 20.

He was taken to hospital for treatment but later died four days later of subdural haematoma - a bleed on the brain.

A 23-year-old woman and two 39-year-old men – all from Bournemouth – were initially arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

However, after the man’s death, they were further arrested on suspicion of murder and released on police bail.

Now the woman and one of the 39-year-old men have been released from the investigation and will not face any further action.

The other 39-year-old man, who was known to the victim, remains on police bail while enquiries continue.

A detailed investigation into the circumstances of the death has been continuing, led by detectives from the major crime investigation team (MCIT).

Detective inspector Mark Jenkins, of MCIT, said: “We have been carrying out extensive enquiries into the man’s death and an investigation is ongoing to understand the full circumstances of the death.”
