RESURFACING work on a roundabout has been postponed due to the “wet weather” forecast.
Bourne Valley Roundabout at Branksome business park was due to be closed overnight from tonight, September 20 and for the next three nights while the improvements are carried out.
But because of the weather reports, which includes a yellow thunderstorm warning across the weekend and a tornado alert this evening, the work has to be rescheduled.
BCP Council’s spokesman said: “Due to the wet weather forecast, we need to postpone the resurfacing work at Bourne Valley Roundabout that was scheduled from this evening, September 20 to 23.
“We are in discussion around a new date for this work and will share an update when we can.”
When the work is given the green light once more, motorists won’t be able to access the roundabout from Surrey Road, Yarmouth Road, Bourne Valley Road (northbound) and Bourne Valley Road (southbound).
A signed diversion route will be in place throughout the work.
