JAW dropping talent, sizzling dance routines, lavish costumes, West End hits and slapstick comedy - CIRQUE: The Greatest Show had it all.
The musical and circus spectacular came to Bournemouth Pavilion on Saturday night, September 21, promising ticket-holders a ‘night like no other’.
And it definitely delivered.
After being introduced to a ‘world of colour’ by a comical mime artist, audiences were thrown into two hours of musical theatre showstoppers combined with breath-taking circus skills.
There was everything from rhythmic gymnastics, aerial acrobats and contortionists, to jugglers, magicians and quick changers.
Roller-skaters had spectators holding their breath, particularly with a ‘head-banger’ trick which saw one picked up by the ankles and spun around by another.
A balloon-popping bow and arrow trick attracted just as many gasps, as well as a fierce fire dancer who brought the heat.
The mime artist made regular appearances to share his comical magic tricks, and by the end, had become a firm crowd favourite.
Audiences were also treated to energetic dance routines and solid performances of musical classics.
Of course, hits from The Greatest Show dominated the set list, with ‘Come Alive’ bringing all the performers back to the stage for an epic grand finale.
They took their bows to a standing ovation and cheers erupting around the Pavilion.
