A 'FUN and informative' open day is being hosted at a fire station in Bournemouth

Springbourne Fire Station is holding the event on Saturday, September 28, between 10am and 3pm.

Residents will have the opportunity to meet their local firefighters, look around the appliances, sign up for a free home safety check and find out what crews at the station get up to a daily basis.

There will also be a range of demonstrations, including hot oil fires, using the aerial ladder platform and a road traffic collision.

Springbourne Station manager Allan Frias-Robles said: "We're hoping for a really good turnout this year as we have so much going on at the station - it will be a great opportunity for everyone.

"The open day is the perfect time for the public to come and meet their local fire crew, learn how to protect their homes from fire, and watch some live fire and rescue demonstrations."

Springbourne Station is located in Richmond Park Close.

There is no parking at the station - visitors will need utilise nearby streets and parking facilities.
