A POOLE lifting bridge will close to cars for a working week next month.
Wessex Water will be carrying out sewage works at Bridge Approach northbound from its junction with New Quay Road to its junction with West Street.
The work is anticipated to take place between Monday, October 21 and Friday, October 25.
As a result, the old lifting bridge – not Twin Sails – will be closed to vehicles.
A signed diversion will be in place on the A350 via Twin Sails Bridge, BCP Council said.
Twin Sails Bridge was out of order for around three months from May to August while it was being repaired.
Drivers were forced to take a diversion via the old century-old lifting bridge, causing traffic problems for Hamworthy residents.
