AN underground fault resulted in the loss of power at nearly 500 homes in Bournemouth.
A cable fault in Strouden Park was the cause of 480 homes losing power for almost two hours yesterday evening (September 26).
Castlepoint Shopping Centre was also affected by the power outage.
Engineers were sent to the area and managed to restore power by around 8pm.
A spokesperson for SSEN said: “An underground cable fault in the Strouden Park area of Bournemouth on Thursday 26 September resulted in 480 customers losing power supplies at 6:52pm.
“Engineers from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) attended immediately and began to restore affected customers in stages, with all back on supply by 8:18pm.
“SSEN apologies for any inconvenience this unplanned interruption caused and thanks customers for their patience while all repairs and restoration were carried out quickly and safely.”
