A PERSON has been taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after a three-vehicle crash near Ringwood. 

Police were called to the A338 near Ashley Heath roundabout at around 8.30pm on Monday, September 30 after reports of the collision.

Officers attended along with the ambulance and fire services and road closures were put in place while they dealt with the incident.

One person was taken to hospital while a 26-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

The vehicles were recovered, and road reopened at around 1.10am the following day.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 8.31pm on Monday 30 September 2024 to a report of a three vehicle collision on the A338 near the Ashley Heath roundabout in Bournemouth.

“Officers attended with ambulance and fire services.

“Road closures were put in place.

“One person was taken to hospital with injuries that are described as possibly serious.

“A 26-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

“Vehicles recovered and road reopened at around 1.10am on Tuesday 1 October.”

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 20:40hrs on Monday 30 September to a road traffic collision near Ringwood.

"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital and another by land ambulance to Royal Bournemouth Hospital."

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene at 8.55pm. 

A crew from Ringwood attended and made the vehicles scene.

They left the scene at 9.36pm.
