A ‘BELOVED’ classic car from 1933 is being listed by a Dorset auctioneer.
The 1933 MG J2 was bought by the owner’s father new 91 years ago, whilst he was serving as an RAF pilot.
“The son searched for many years to locate his late father’s MG and eventually found it in a Lincolnshire barn,” said Richard Bromell of Sherborne-based Charterhouse.
“As a retired engineer he undertook a nut and bolt restoration to restore the car to an as new condition just like the day his father bought it in 1933.”
The MG was enjoyed by the owner’s father who had trips across Europe including driving around pre-war Germany.
The car was subsequently sold and was stored in a barn until the son tracked it down nearly 20 years ago.
Richard added: “Sadly, now due to advancing years, the son of the first owner has decided to let a new family take ownership of his beloved MG J2 first bought by his father 91 years ago.”
The vehicle will be included in the Charterhouse auction of classic cars, being held at Haynes Motor Museum on Thursday, October 24.
Charterhouse is now accepting further entries for this auction, and for its upcoming silver, jewellery and watch, and Asian Art auctions.
