Ollie said: “My mother came screaming up the garden to wake me up and I ran out in just Crocs and pyjama bottoms.

“I work for a roofing mechanic and there’s customers saying their tools are getting stolen from their van daily but to burn a campervan to ashes is just crazy.”

After the ordeal, Ollie was told he would only get a small percentage of the money from an insurance company so decided to take matters into his own hands to fund for the van.

He created a GoFundMe to fundraise for the costs of the damage caused to his £50,000 campervan.

Ollie added: “I poured my heart, time, and savings into converting my Volkswagen Crafter into my home. It wasn’t just a van—it was my space to live and explore the world.

“I travelled all over Europe in it, experiencing incredible sights, meeting wonderful people, and making lifelong memories. But now, all that effort and joy has been reduced to ashes.

“Losing my campervan like this is heart-wrenching. It wasn’t just a vehicle; it was my sanctuary, my freedom, and my home. I am devastated, but I’m reaching out to the community for help.

“Any support you can provide, whether it’s a donation or just sharing my story, would mean the world to me.

“My goal is to rebuild, get back on the road, and reclaim the freedom that my campervan gave me. I deeply appreciate any help you can offer in this difficult time.”

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We were called at 2.03am to report of vehicle fire in Bloxworth Road in Poole.

“It is believed the fire was started deliberately. Enquiries are continuing. No arrests have been made.”

Donations can be made to Ollie’s GoFundMe titled: ‘Help Ollie rebuild his campervan after arson attack’.
