RESIDENTS are being invited to take part in a free weekend of gym sessions later this month.

BH Live Active is hosting the event at its Queen’s Park gym in Queen’s Park South Drive, Bournemouth on October 19 and 20 in a bid to encourage people to kickstart a healthier lifestyle.

Instructors will lead a gym floor workout to showcase the centre’s facilities, which include cardiovascular, resistance and functional fitness equipment and zones.

Free to attend Les Mills taster classes including body pump, body balance and a brand-new functional strength class will also be available.

There will also be a mini yoga retreat on Saturday, October 19 from 1pm to 4pm where participants will be guided through a range of yoga routines. The yoga retreat is a chargeable activity, at £15 for BH Live Active members and £20 for non-members.

To participate in the free gym and class taster sessions, people will be asked to complete a free one-day guest pass either online or in person.

Meanwhile, the mini yoga retreat can be booked and paid for via the BH Live Active app and website.

Centre manager Sam Roberts said: “We are delighted to be hosting another free open weekend at BH Live Active Queen’s Park which is packed with activities to inspire more people into being regularly active for better health.

“This is an excellent opportunity for local people to come and explore the centre’s fantastic facilities and rekindle – or discover – their love for being more active.

“Our team is incredibly passionate, and regularly helps customers become the best version of themselves through their knowledge and expertise.

“We can’t wait to welcome everyone to BH Live Active, Queen’s Park.”

The gym re-opened in the summer of 2023, having closed in summer 2021 after years of difficulty and uncertainty about the future of the site.

BH Live Active membership also includes access to gyms, swimming pools, spa facilities and exercise classes at Littledown, Pelhams, Stokewood, Sir David English Sports Centre and BH Live Active, Corfe Mullen.
