DEVELOPERS have lodged plans for 19 apartments at a clifftop location in Highcliffe.

Bury and Knight Ltd want to combine the sites of 31 to 33 Wharncliffe Road, demolish the existing buildings and construct two new apartment blocks.

One block would have eight apartments, while the other would have 11, and the units would be a mixture of three-bedroom, two-bedroom and one-bedroom across ground to third floor.

A communal amenity space, associated parking and landscaping have also been included in the plans.

A previous version of the scheme by Bury and Knight Ltd, for a single block of 23 apartments, was refused in August last year.

“Circa 19 residential units are proposed split into two separate buildings. The storey heights will reflect a harmonic and established street scene.

“Several of the apartments also benefit from north and south facing balconies, providing private amenity in addition to the communal area. There is a central entrance courtyard and direct access for residents to shared landscaped gardens.”

A decision is yet to be made on the application.
