A LORRY became stuck under a low railway bridge.
The Enterprise rental vehicle collided with the disused railway bridge in Lake Road, Hamworthy on Monday afternoon, October 7.
Pictures from the crash show the top of the lorry was just too tall to fit under the 2.8 metre bridge – which was marked.
And because the road goes down to a single lane under the bridge, the crash stopped vehicles from passing through the road.
Firefighters from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to help with the rescue.
A spokeswoman said: "Two fire engines were mobilised, Hamworthy and Poole, and on arrival found one van had hit a low railway bridge.
"Crews are working to make the scene safe and Network Rail have been contacted regarding damage to the bridge.”
Nobody was reported injured in the crash, she added.
Network Rail’s spokesman confirmed the bridge is a disused track and therefore has no impact on its passengers.
The lorry was later removed from under the bridge later that afternoon.
