TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a crash which left a man with life-changing injuries.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.10pm on Monday, October 7, of a collision involving a Range Rover and a pedestrian in Etches Close at the junction with Western Avenue in Bournemouth.

It is reported that the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.

The pedestrian – a man aged in his 20s from Christchurch – was airlifted to hospital with life-changing injuries. His next of kin has been informed.

Following enquiries, two men – aged 20 and 54 from Bournemouth – have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and driving offences. They remain in police custody.

The arrested men are known to the victim.

Cordons were put in place to allow for an examination of the scene to be carried out.

An investigation is underway by detectives to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
